ACNE TREATMENTS

Acne effects approximately 80% of people at some point in their life and can have devastating physical and emotional consequences.  We treat acne with traditional methods and advanced light-based therapies.  We do not use Accutane.  Instead, we offer Levulan Photodynamic Therapy, which we feel will soon be the gold standard to which all other treatments are compared.  This therapy is usually reserved for moderate to severe acne.  It can be used in patients who have not seen results with Accutane and is a very safe treatment that is usually well tolerated.  Three to six treatments are recommended.  In addition to topical antibiotics, retinoids, and oral antibiotics, we offer a unique combination of skin care products and cosmeceuticals that are highly effective against the acniform process.  Chemical peels and lasers can be used to lessen the degree of scarring and improve the texture of the skin.
